Our Agile Scrum simulation focuses on how the Scrum based Agile methodology works, including the cadence, roles and responsibilities. The simulation includes the entire Agile/Scrum team, specifically the Scrum Master, Product Owner, Testers, and Developers. Students, for the most part, play the role of Scrum Master. After executing this real-life simulation students will understand the different roles within the Agile team structure and through repeated practice develop the knowledge, skills, and tools required to understand and successfully implement Scrum based Agile project methods on their next project.

The Agile Scrum simulation is also available as part of our Agile Essentials for Practitioners class.

Agile Scrum Simulation

Our Agile Scrum simulation focuses on how the Scrum based Agile methodology works, including the cadence, roles and responsibilities. The simulation includes the entire Agile/Scrum team, specifically the Scrum Master, Product Owner, Testers, and Developers. Students, for the most part, play the role of Scrum Master. After executing this real-life simulation students will understand the different roles within the Agile team structure and through repeated practice develop the knowledge, skills, and tools required to understand and successfully implement Scrum based Agile project methods on their next project.

More and more organizations are seeing increased productivity, quality and team morale implementing Agile and Scrum specific methodologies for their projects. You can read about Agile or take a typical training class, but until you actually experience an Agile project from beginning to end, it’s difficult to understand, integrate, and apply the multi-faceted principles of Agile.

Using our simulation students execute an Agile project from beginning to end. The project includes a one week Sprint 0 followed by four two week sprints. Students begin by understanding the project and grooming the Product Backlog (starts with 32 User Stories). Then they complete Sprint Planning and make a few additional decisions before running the sprint. As the sprint runs, the simulation will pop-up real life Agile project challenges and response options. Many of the challenges replicate the realities and push back from implementing Agile in a typical organization. The decisions the students make before and during the week drives the direction and success of the project. At the end of each week and sprint the students have the option to update their own Task Board, Burndown and Earnup charts.

The Agile Scrum simulation is also available as part of our Agile Essentials for Practitioners class.
