The Stages of Learning
The “Stages of Learning” describes the step by step process of how a new skill is developed from the training perspective. Note that SPL based training leaves students “Automatic” or “Integrated” with respect to skill development.
Non-simulation training classes only provide knowledge and one or two practice sessions. Students leave the training without the comfort or competence to apply what they have learned and performance improvement is minimal. Comfort, competence and real performance improvement comes from repetition and feedback either “on the job” or in a simulated workplace environment.
